August 30, 2018 Toledo, OR – The Gaston Greyhounds Traveled to Toledo to face the Boomers and went home with the 3-2 win. (13-25, 26-24, 23-25, 25-22, 15-9)

If you are a fan of volleyball, then this was a matchup to see.  Even though the season has just begun, these teams were playing like it was the playoffs.

The first set was controlled by the Boomers.  They were in sync and held nothing back as Gaston played a little flat footed.  However, it didn’t take long for the Greyhounds to find their rhythm.

The second set was hard fought.  Both teams played well and gave the crowd a great show.  The rest of the night Toledo and the Greyhounds battled for points and it would come down to a fifth set, which Gaston won.

The thing that I noticed about both teams, as opposed to other teams I have seen this season, was the fact they communicated well.  Communication is crucial in a fast paced game such as volleyball.

Up next for Gaston is a road game against Knappa.

Toledo travels to Taft.
