August 26, 2016 Meridan, ID – A packed Mavericks stadium and two potential state contenders kicked off Treasure Valley high school football Friday night.

It wasn’t the best-played game between the Mountain View Mavericks and the Eagle Mustangs but it did give the standing-room-only crowd excitement.  The excitement was in the form of a game-winning touchdown pass from Eagle quarterback Slayter Jefferies to Cole Christenson with 1:57 remaining in the game.

The Mustangs picked up the road win over the Mavericks 22-19.
