Over the years I have covered many basketball games. I have seen some great games and some games that made me almost fall asleep. And in every game there is always one or two players who take low percentage shots. And, of course, the fans will point this out. I recently heard a fan say, “Why did he shoot from the top of the key? He knows he does better inside.”
This got me to thinking about an article I read a year or two back on wired.com. This article talked about a man who tracked every shot that was taken in the NBA, nore specifically, “….a database with the spatial coordinates for every shot taken from 2006 to 2011….”.
It was an interesting read and instead of summarizing the article, I will leave you with a link. So, go HERE.
