Oct. 21, 2016 St. Helens, OR – It was senior night for the St. Helens Lions and it was also a successful night as the 26 seniors helped defeat the visiting Putnam Kingsmen 42-14.
St. Helens controlled the first quarter scoring on their first two drives. Putnam put together a strong drive in the second quarter, using most of the clock and scoring as well.
The Lions are now 6-2 overall and 4-2 in the 5A-1 Northwest Oregon Conference. The Lions are the fourth seed and have made it to state three of the last six years.
With the loss, the Kingsmen are now 3-5 overall and 2-4 in the 5A-1 Northwest Oregon Conference.
