Oct. 11, 2016 Salem, OR – Neither the Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers (4-4-3, 3-4-2) or the Salem Academy Crusaders (1-10, 0-10) are having the best of years. The Crusaders were looking to pick up their second win of the season as they hosted the Cavaliers. That was not to be. Blanchet defeated Salem Academy 2-1.
The Crusaders’ only win this year came at the beginning of the season when they defeated Central Linn 5-0. Central Linn remains winless.
This game was better than anticipated. Salem Academy fought hard and was as aggressive as Blanchet. Both teams had nice shots on goal but most were rejected by good defensive play.
