October 4, 2019 Waldport, OR – The Waldport Irish hosted the undefeated Perrydale Pirates for homecoming and came up short of the win 44-22.

The Irish entered the game having won two out of their last three games and hoping for a homecoming win.  However, the Pirates wanted to keep their four game winning streak alive and were successful.

Perrydale was the first to score and picked up the two-point conversion.  At the 9:51 mark in the first quarter they lead 8-0.  Waldport would be the next to get on the board and at the end of the first quarter were down 8-6.

With only seven seconds off the clock in the second quarter, the Pirates would find the end zone again and increase their lead by 10, 16-6.  They would score again with 9:53 remaining in the first half and headed to the locker rooms 22-6.

The Irish found the end zone twice in the second half and Perrydale would find it again and at halftime it was Perrydale 36 and Waldport 22.

It would be the last score the Irish for the game while Perrydale would add another 14 to their score and pick up their fifth straight win.

Both teams were lacking in a passing game.  The highlight was the Perrydale lineman.  The played tough and made key plays the entire game.  It was fun to watch.
